Intern With CDR

CDR has relied on the help and assistance of interns for years.  Interns have been instrumental in both providing and designing services, as well as administrative tasks of all kinds.  CDR would not be what it is today with out the skill, expertise, and energy that it receives from the wonderful student support it receives.

In exchange for interns time and energy, CDR is committed to training interns in any area of interest to them.  Past CDR interns have moved on to become top professionals in the fields on conflict resolution, criminal justice, law, and many other related fields and agencies around the country.

Students who spend their internships at CDR will leave with many, if not all of the following resume building skills and abilities:

  • Experience with conflict resolution services, theory, and practice;
  • Understanding of the administrative functions required to run and maintain a Center for Dispute Resolution;
  •  Real world research, writing, and submission of grants, as well as contract development and administration;
  •  Build communication skills, not only as a conflict resolution practitioner, but also in a workplace and professional setting;
  •  Support and encouragement from CDR staff related to school work and assignments, when appropriate;
  • A professional reference for any job applications submitted post-internship, if the student isn’t hired by CDR first!
